UFA Construction – 100 years in the making.

OUR MISSION: We are a commercial construction partner dedicated to providing municipal, industrial and agricultural construction services to rural markets. Our business has an unwavering commitment to quality and service; respect for the communities where we work and live; and an understanding and appreciation for rural values.

In 1909, UFA was established to provide products, services, support and a voice for rural life. Over the past 100 years, UFA has changed as agriculture has changed – UFA Construction is simply one of those changes. It is a new company recognizing that a passionate focus on rural construction projects is essential to shaping the future success of rural communities.

Our Farm and Ranch Supply stores have offered building services for over 50 years. From pre-fabricated barns, sheds and homes, to custom laminated post construction, we meet the needs of our rural customers with projects that fit a variety of budgets and sizes. The UFA Farm and Ranch Supply stores will continue to provide small-scale agricultural buildings as part of the in-store offering.

Our heritage has shown us that partnership is the key to success. Our relationships connect us to Stirdon Betker – a leading provider of quality grain handling, feed processing, and intensive livestock production systems. The combined expertise of Stirdon Systems and Betker Livestock (known as Stirdon Betker, a Division of UFA since 2001) has earned a reputation with Western Canadian farmers for not only high quality, innovative construction, but exceptional service.

Our Farm and Ranch Supply store experience and existing partnership with Stirdon Betker was the foundation for UFA Construction – the strong community relationships developed from our Farm store network complement the technical and project management expertise of Stirdon Betker. With over a quarter-century of construction already under our belts from these two aspects of our business, we have a solid construction history rarely found in a new business.

Our relationships also connect us to Bar W Petroleum and Electric Ltd – a leading provider of high quality electrical systems. Combining their innovative approach with UFA Construction allows our projects to include state-of-the-art technology and automated systems. This gives our customers an additional level of technical knowledge to combine with our construction expertise.

We also work with a host of highly qualified and experienced personnel across Western Canada… many times drawing from within the local community. And because we live where we work, our business connects us to the communities we call home.

We take a leadership role on each of our projects to ensure that every one on the job adheres to all safety standards.

For more than 30 years, Stirdon Betker has been the leader in providing Western Canadian Farmers with high-quality products and services to improve the efficiency and profitability of their grain handling systems, farm feed mill systems and intensive livestock systems. Stirdon Betker will continue to provide project management, technical and service expertise.

Bar W Petroleum and Electric Ltd. Bar W provides expertise to design leading edge and innovative electrical and electronic systems that follow all building practices, codes and standards.

Local Contractors. UFA will partner with local contractors wherever possible to put local knowledge and skill to work for the construction project. We work hard to make sure and take great pride that UFA Construction benefits the community by contributing to the local economy.

Plan and Build

If you have the building plans and specifications all worked out, UFA Construction takes care of the construction from start to finish. Be as hands-on as you want and let us act as your construction manager.

For a pre-determined rate, UFA Construction will oversee budgeting, tendering, consultation, site supervisions, scheduling, site labour, and more. Flexibility is the greatest characteristic of our business relationship because you can choose exactly which parts of the construction process that you’d like UFA Construction to manage, and which parts you are comfortable executing.

Design, Plan and Build

UFA Construction is a full-service construction partner. Let us provide everything necessary to do the job from start to finish – with as little or as much of your involvement along the way as you need.

By taking advantage of our Design, Plan and Build option, we take care of all the details -- including permitting. We work as a team with you and any other required consultants to take advantage of available expertise to create the building you want at the most affordable price.

General Contractor

If you want a more traditional construction model, UFA Construction can take on the role of General Contractor and act as your project manager.

Every construction project comes with some restrictions and limitations. Managing the construction process requires a deep knowledge of construction disciplines as well as expertise in design and project management techniques. Use UFA Construction as a General Contractor, and we will direct and coordinate all human and material resources – planning, engineering, construction services and trades – throughout the life of your project.

Laminated Posts

Laminated post construction is a cost-effective and flexible building useful for a variety of purposes. Through our Farm and Ranch Supply stores, we have an extensive history of providing high-quality laminated post construction projects that meet a variety of uses and dimensions.

UFA Construction can prepare building packages to your exact specifications. Each complete package is delivered and assembled on-site. This cost-effective mode of construction is flexible and fast – UFA Construction can erect the structure or you can do it yourself.

We can accommodate any standard or customized building application, including:
